Numéro France
Naiade

In Naiade, a high-fashion editorial produced for Numéro France, the boundary between industrial utility and ethereal luxury is masterfully blurred. Through the lens of photographer Stefano Sciuto, the project explores a surreal maritime aesthetic that channels editorial minimalism while grounding high-end garments in the raw, tectonic reality of volcanic basalt coastlines. Styled by Anna Castan, the narrative leans into a visual dichotomy, pairing delicate lace, shimmering sequins, and sculptural satin gowns with heavy-duty scuba equipment, utilitarian waders, and rubber fins. This tension creates a striking, cinematic atmosphere where the fragility of human form is juxtaposed against the permanence of jagged rock formations and the vastness of the open sea. By utilizing natural light and an analogue, film-inspired texture, the imagery avoids the sterile perfection of traditional fashion shoots, favoring instead a moody, contemplative depth. With Maurizio Caruso Morreale leading hair and makeup, the aesthetic remains sharp yet organic, perfectly framing model Jennifer Matias as she navigates these barren, aquatic landscapes. The result is a series that feels both timeless and avant-garde, transforming the seaside into a stage for a narrative that is as much about the endurance of style as it is about the poetry of the natural world. This project remains a definitive example of how technical creative execution can elevate fashion into evocative, narrative-driven storytelling.
