Derrière Le Rideau is a high-fashion editorial series commissioned by Numéro France. Photographed by Gus&Lo, the project centers on model Abény Nhial, navigating a series of staged, avant-garde environments that oscillate between industrial minimalism and theatrical dramaturgy. The aesthetic leans into a moody, high-contrast visual language, utilizing deep color saturation and low-key lighting to emphasize architectural silhouettes and tactile fabric textures. Throughout the series, the styling by Rita Skomrova and casting by Paul Louisor support a surrealist approach to portraiture. The imagery employs techniques such as analogue film and chiaroscuro lighting to create a cinematic atmosphere. From concrete plinths and raw, textured walls to dynamic swathes of satin curtains and vibrant red pigment, the compositions prioritize bold graphic contrasts and sculptural shapes.
