Commissioned by Numéro France, Derrière Le Rideau is a fashion editorial series that places model Abény Nhial at the center of an avant-garde, theatrical narrative. Photographed by Gus&Lo, the project explores the interplay between architectural silhouettes and high-contrast environments, utilizing a rich palette of saturated reds, deep blues, and industrial greys. The series leans into a cinematic and surreal aesthetic, juxtaposing raw concrete textures and organic elements like sand against the lustrous sheen of satin drapery. Through the lens of creative casting by Paul Louisor and meticulous hair styling by Rita Skomrova, the work employs low-key lighting and chiaroscuro techniques to heighten the drama of each composition. The execution results in a series of striking, editorial images that emphasize the sculptural qualities of the garments.
