The quiet between screens

Mar 2026
In the fast-paced digital era, Novembre Global explores the disconnect between human presence and technological mediation in their latest fashion editorial series, The quiet between screens. This project functions as a visual study of modern detachment, leaning into a stark, clinical aesthetic that oscillates between high-end fashion and raw, conceptual portraiture. Across the series, the imagery captures a tension between the physical subject and their digital representation, utilizing techniques like visible pixelated grid overlays and lens flares to evoke a sense of digital fragmentation. The editorial intentionally strips away unnecessary noise, opting for a clean, minimalist white-space environment that forces the viewer to confront the sharp silhouettes and textural details of the garments. Makeup artist Paige Whiting plays a pivotal role in grounding these ethereal compositions, with high-gloss finishes and natural, understated palettes that emphasize the subjects' raw skin texture against the polished, structural elements of the clothing. By blending traditional studio strobe lighting with the soft, diffusion of natural light, the collection feels both timeless and aggressively contemporary. Whether examining the sculptural form of a tubular garment or the intricate play of reflection in a studio mirror, the project offers a thoughtful meditation on how we occupy space—both in front of the lens and within the digital landscape.
