Museum Ludwig
Brand Identity

Feb 2021
The brand identity for Museum Ludwig, developed by Studio von Monkiewitsch, establishes a rigorous visual system that bridges archival precision with modern graphic design. The project centers on a distinctive use of bold typography and recurring red diagonal cross motifs, creating a cohesive aesthetic across exhibition materials, publications, and environmental graphics. From the systematic layout of exhibition catalogs to the large-scale facade banners and urban digital signage, the work employs a minimalist approach to emphasize clear hierarchy and information. This functional design language extends into the gallery space, where environmental graphics and bilingual wall text provide structure within the museum architecture, utilizing high-contrast typography and clean composition.
