About

The Milk Makeup x Beyond Noise collaboration is a high-energy editorial campaign that captures a candid, urban aesthetic. Photographer Mari Sarai documents a series of street-level vignettes across New York City, leaning into a gritty, analogue film style that emphasizes texture and motion. The project blends street photography with beauty portraiture, utilizing natural light and high-contrast monochrome grading to highlight a range of bold looks and styles. Featuring hair styling by Ryan Mitchell and makeup artistry by Frank B, the imagery showcases expressive, cinematic moments—from rain-streaked taxi cab portraits to dynamic street-level interactions. Casting director Shay Nielsen brings a diverse ensemble to the project, with Sarah Richardson serving as editor-in-chief to oversee the visual cohesion of the editorial series.
