Across these images, the work oscillates between stark, high-key studio portraits that isolate sculptural silhouettes—characterized by voluminous ruffles, intricate lace, and architectural puff sleeves—and moodier, cinematic scenes. In these more theatrical compositions, Vanderperre leans into a chiaroscuro aesthetic, placing models amidst an eclectic array of props including vintage fans, candelabras, and pomegranates, all framed by heavy, draped curtains.
