Beyond Noise represents a masterclass in fashion editorial photography, where the renowned lens of photographer Willy Vanderperre breathes life into a collection of avant-garde and luxury garments. This expansive project captures a series of striking tableaus that balance high-fashion rigor with a surreal, domestic-gothic sensibility. Across these images, the work oscillates between stark, high-key studio portraits that isolate sculptural silhouettes—characterized by voluminous ruffles, intricate lace, and architectural puff sleeves—and moodier, cinematic scenes. In these more theatrical compositions, Vanderperre leans into a chiaroscuro aesthetic, placing models amidst an eclectic array of props including vintage fans, candelabras, and pomegranates, all framed by heavy, draped curtains. The creative vision is elevated by the precision of hair stylist Louis Ghewy and makeup artist Lynsey Alexander, who weave unconventional details like bleached eyebrows and bold, painted lips into the visual narrative.
