Mia Le Journal marks its tenth anniversary with 'Ode to Fading,' an extensive editorial feature for Issue N° 20. The project presents a collection of mixed-media and photographic works captured by photographer Olaf Wipperfürth, exploring themes of absence and transformation through a blend of documentary and artistic lenses. The feature employs a distinct minimalist editorial layout, balancing negative space with bold, high-contrast typography. The visual narrative utilizes grainy analogue film and raw, natural light to document diverse subjects ranging from architectural forms and geological monoliths to nuanced portraiture and urban action shots. Layered compositions and collage techniques add a tactile quality to the print series, bridging the gap between traditional photography and abstract graphic art.
