The Acceptance Issue for Love Want is a fashion editorial series defined by a raw, stripped-back aesthetic and a focus on sculptural form. Through a collection of black-and-white portraits, the project leans into cinematic and high-contrast imagery, utilizing monochromatic grading to explore the interplay between texture and anatomy. Each frame is designed with a minimalist sensibility, prioritizing clear composition and the precise manipulation of light to highlight both the subjects and the tactile nature of their styling. Photographer Paul Scala captures a range of intimate and dynamic poses, often set against stark neutral backdrops to emphasize the graphic quality of the human figure. The production is rounded out by the set design of Felix Jerome Grech and the make-up artistry of Gillian Campbell, whose contributions help anchor the editorial’s clean, rigorous visual identity. The series incorporates elements of analogue film and chiaroscuro techniques, resulting in a contemplative series that focuses on the relationship between apparel, skin, and sculptural props.
