Kyiv Academy of Media Arts
Brand Identity

Sep 2019
The brand identity for the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts serves as a masterclass in blending academic rigor with avant-garde artistic sensibilities. Developed by CREVV, the project transcends traditional institutional branding by positioning the academy as a living, breathing laboratory for contemporary media. Through a sophisticated series of campaign visuals, the design language leans heavily into editorial minimalism and surreal juxtapositions—such as a weathered grey boulder balanced atop industrial caster wheels or a vibrant pink balloon pressed within raw concrete. These sculptural compositions are anchored by bold, sans-serif typography that communicates program specifics with clinical, high-contrast clarity. The project utilizes a diverse technical toolkit, moving seamlessly from the tactile, viscous textures of screen print and silkscreen processes to the precision of 3D render and CGI elements. Whether employing the dramatic interplay of hard light to define geometric forms or relying on soft light to highlight the industrial materiality of glass and liquid, the visual identity remains consistently cohesive. By integrating these disparate artistic techniques, the agency effectively transforms routine educational information into compelling, high-concept narratives. The resulting output is a clean, modern, and highly structured aesthetic that manages to feel both intellectually challenging and commercially accessible, successfully establishing KAMA as a premier destination for the next generation of creative talent within the digital media landscape.
