Jil Sander Olfactory Series 1

Jul 2026
The Jil Sander Olfactory Series 1 fragrance campaign is a masterclass in editorial minimalism, translating the brand's sophisticated DNA into a tactile visual language. Captured through the lens of photographer Lara Giliberto, the series leans into a deliberate interplay between sleek, industrial design and the raw, unrefined beauty of the natural world. Each commercial packshot serves as a study in material purity, where the transparency of the glass bottles acts as a neutral axis for contrasting textures. Set designer Giovanna Martial curates these environments with precision, pairing metallic panels, crystal rock formations, and dense botanical elements against the minimalist elegance of the fragrance vessels. Through the lens, the use of soft light and natural light techniques elevates the composition, allowing the golden hues of the scents to interact with heavy, impasto-like surfaces and dark, weathered mahogany. Under the design vision of Simone Bellotti, the project channels a restrained aesthetic that emphasizes design precision rather than overt ornamentation. By juxtaposing the smooth, architectural lines of the bottles with the organic irregularities of leaves, petals, and wood grain, the imagery succeeds in grounding the Olfactory Series in a tangible, sensory experience. The result is a refined beauty portfolio that feels both timeless and modern, celebrating the symbiotic relationship between scent, form, and material composition.
