Jeunesse Oblige

Oct 2026
Jeunesse Oblige is a fashion editorial feature produced for M Le magazine du Monde, exploring the intersection of structural tailoring and minimalist aesthetics. Captured by photographer Stef Mitchell, the series utilizes clean, even lighting and a pared-back studio palette to highlight the interplay of textures, ranging from heavy faux fur and shearling to crisp shirting and dark patent finishes. Creative director Jean-Baptiste Talbourdet-Napoleone orchestrates a visual narrative that shifts between stark, seamless backdrops and candid, verdant outdoor settings, grounding the avant-garde styling in a contemplative, observational tone. The project relies on a precise collaborative effort to balance complex layering with sharp, architectural lines. Fashion editor Jason Rider curates a wardrobe that contrasts voluminous outerwear and distressed elements with precise, tailored menswear staples, while subtle accents—such as vibrant red hosiery or textured headwear—introduce rhythmic detail to the editorial. The imagery reflects a focused approach to form, supported by the work of hair stylist Matt Mulhall, makeup artist Thierry Do Nascimento, and set designer Rebecca Ilse, with casting directed by Piotr Chamier.
