ICON America
The New Masculine
Apr 2026
In The New Masculine, ICON America interrogates the boundaries of contemporary identity through a series of striking visual narratives. This luxury fashion campaign redefines traditional sartorial codes by blending sharp, architectural tailoring with elements of urban subculture. Captured through the lens of photographer Antonino Cafiero, the series leans into editorial minimalism, utilizing high-contrast monochrome tones and cinematic chiaroscuro lighting to strip away the superfluous and focus entirely on silhouette and texture. Stylist Keeley Dawson curates a wardrobe that juxtaposes formal, pinstripe double-breasted blazers and crisp white shirts with unexpected accessories like skullcaps, durags, and wired earbuds, suggesting a modern dialogue between heritage and youth culture. With an evocative cast including models Alexander Acquah, Jesse Sachet-Dufraisse, and Oscar Young, the work feels both introspective and assertive. The project employs techniques such as analogue film aesthetics and carefully controlled natural light to highlight the organic grit of mottled concrete walls and weathered wood, grounding the luxury garments in a visceral, tactile environment. By integrating intentional grooming by hair stylist Takumi Horiwaki and makeup artist Phoebe Taylor, the campaign creates a cohesive, moody atmosphere that treats the male form as a study in poise. Ultimately, the collection reads as a sophisticated manifesto for a new era, proving that minimalism can possess profound emotional depth.
