Can You Do What Adéla Does?

Feb 2026
In a vivid exploration of contemporary identity and high-fashion aesthetics, the editorial campaign for i-D Magazine, titled Can You Do What Adéla Does?, serves as a masterclass in graphic minimalism and bold chromatic tension. Featuring entertainer Adéla Jergová, the project leans into a surrealist, high-contrast visual language that centers on the striking juxtaposition of pastel pink hair against a monochromatic black-and-white landscape. Photographer Bryce Anderson utilizes a mix of studio strobe and natural light to capture the fluidity of motion, while the styling by Clare Byrne emphasizes tactile textures, from feather-adorned heels to sheer layering and structured leather. The shoot effectively channels an editorial energy through deliberate compositions that incorporate sharp geometric lines and typographic interventions. With hair design by Hikaru, subtle makeup by Michaela Bosch, and a set design by Heath Mattioli that employs stark horizontal striping and minimalist props, the imagery feels both precise and kinetically charged. This fashion-forward series navigates the intersection of portraiture and abstract storytelling, using the subject’s dynamic movement to disrupt the stillness of the studio environment. By blending soft, feminine silhouettes with aggressive, structural backgrounds, the project transcends traditional fashion photography, solidifying its place as a standout piece of modern editorial content that balances high-end polish with an underlying sense of playful, experimental rebellion.
