Brand Identity
Date

Sep 2025

Description

Homeward Books establishes a distinct visual identity through a series of minimalist, graphic-led brand assets. The project features a cohesive system of vector illustrations and clean sans-serif typography, centering on the recurring motif of the hermit crab and spiral shell as primary brand symbols. The identity system spans various formats, including motion graphics and apparel. The design direction employs high-contrast monochrome treatments and deliberate color blocking, utilizing vibrant greens, yellows, and deep blacks to establish a strong visual presence. Creative direction was led by Emma Kaniuk & Company, who oversaw the comprehensive identity development. Supporting creative contributions include detailed illustration work from Natasha Vermeulen and Ana Miminoshvili. The project also incorporates motion design by Suz Sirunyan and Isobelle McCall, with web development by Sterling to round out the digital expression of the brand.
