Description

The brand identity for the Outside/In exhibition, a collaborative effort between Hello Human and Lyle Gallery, expertly navigates the intersection of specialty retail and fine art curation. This comprehensive visual program bridges the gap between sculptural interior design and commercial communication, leaning into an aesthetic defined by editorial minimalism and tactile sophistication. The project masterfully balances the organic warmth of handcrafted wooden textures with the stark, industrial precision of matte black display surfaces and bold, geometric typography. Through the lens of photographers Jonathan Hokklo and Matthew Gordon, the campaign captures the exhibition’s essence, utilizing natural light and deliberate studio strobe setups to highlight the interplay between sage green leather, raw wood grain, and the intricate, looping forms of contemporary lighting fixtures. With design input from Studio Loutsis, the collateral—ranging from geometric brochures to vinyl-embellished invitations—functions as a cohesive, high-end language that invites audiences to rethink design paradigms. By merging commercial polish with the raw, sensory appeal of ceramic and sculptural objects, the identity project succeeds as both a marketing tool and a curated experience. It creates a seamless dialogue between space and object, proving that even the most structured corporate identity can pulse with the rhythm of art, craft, and human-centric design, solidifying the exhibition as a landmark moment for the participating galleries.
