Harper's Bazaar Italia: Obliqua

Obliqua is a monochrome fashion editorial created for Harper’s Bazaar Italia, defined by its rigorous exploration of sculptural form and minimalist geometry. Photographed by Julien Martinez Leclerc, the series channels a gallery-like aesthetic, using stark studio lighting and chiaroscuro techniques to blur the boundaries between high-fashion portraiture and fine art. The narrative relies on the interaction between human subjects and organic, biomorphic props, such as oversized ceramic vessels and layered stone structures. Fashion editor and stylist Katie Burnett anchors the visual language with structured, avant-garde tailoring and intricate silhouettes, complemented by the clean, precise hair styling of Olivier Schawalder and makeup by Yadim. Sophear Van Froment’s set design is integral to the project, constructing an environment of seamless gradients and architectural shapes that prioritize tonal contrast and compositional balance.
