Obliqua is a striking fashion editorial for Harper’s Bazaar Italia, defined by a rigorous monochrome palette and a sculptural approach to studio photography. Under the lens of Julien Martinez Leclerc, the project explores the interplay between avant-garde apparel and minimalist geometric forms, utilising directional lighting to create sharp tonal contrasts and deep, dramatic shadows. The series features creative direction and styling by Katie Burnett, who balances structured, architectural garments with surreal props and organic botanical elements. Throughout the editorial, hair styling by Olivier Schawalder and makeup by Yadim lean into clean, precise aesthetics, while set designer Sophear Van Froment constructs a gallery-like environment where human subjects and sculptural objects exist in a dialogue of scale and perspective. The execution combines high-speed movement and minimalist composition to produce a refined, graphic visual narrative.
