Captured on location in the Canary Islands, El Hierro is a sweeping fashion editorial for Harper's Bazaar España that leans into the raw, volcanic geology of the region. Through the lens of photographer Xavi Gordo, the story highlights an interplay between fluid silhouettes and the rugged, unyielding textures of the coastal landscape. Featuring model Maria Khan, the project makes extensive use of natural light, alternating between the soft, warm glow of golden hour and the moody, desaturated tones of overcast twilight. The imagery employs a combination of intimate close-ups and wide, atmospheric shots that emphasize an organic connection between the subject and her environment. Styling by Carola Bianchi pairs neutral-toned swimwear and knitwear with the sharp, earthy backdrops, while makeup by Jordi Fontanals maintains a grounded, minimal aesthetic.
