E*Trade presents 'Bagelland', an animated commercial piece that translates complex financial market concepts into a digestible, illustrative format. The project uses flat 2D graphic design to construct a stylized western landscape, featuring a desert setting populated by line-art cactuses and architectural silhouettes.
The narrative flows through a horizontal panning animation, where a central bagel character traverses the environment. Motion graphics emphasize key financial messaging, layering bold typography over the minimalist visuals to maintain clarity. The production was developed by agency SS+K, with music and sound design provided by MAS-Music and Strategy.
