Elle Canada
Work it

Apr 2026
In Work It, a compelling editorial fashion series produced for Elle Canada, the boundaries between high-end luxury menswear and authentic lifestyle portraiture are expertly blurred. Guided by the lens of photographer Royal Gilbert, the campaign masterfully navigates a dichotomy of environments, transitioning seamlessly from the stark, controlled atmosphere of a studio to the wild, organic textures of a sun-drenched forest. Central to the project is a focus on textural exploration, where the tactile qualities of heavy overcoats, pinstriped trench coats, and vibrant, oversized knits are rendered with profound clarity. The aesthetic leans heavily into a blend of editorial minimalism and cinematic depth, punctuated by deliberate moments of motion blur that infuse the static frames with a sense of lived-in spontaneity. Fashion Editor and stylist Amanda Lee Shirreffs curates a wardrobe that challenges traditional tailoring, while hair stylist Kiki Heitkotter contributes a polished, contemporary grooming sensibility that anchors the eclectic silhouettes. The collection of images, which utilizes both analogue film techniques and natural light, functions as a study in contrast—balancing contemplative, introspective portraiture against bold, saturated lifestyle compositions. Ultimately, the project captures a modern, fluid approach to fashion that feels both timeless and distinctly relevant, elevated by a sophisticated color palette and the quiet, evocative power of its outdoor and studio-based backdrops.
