Document Journal’s Notes on Beauty series presents an editorial exploration of contemporary aesthetic codes. Captured by photographer Liz Collins, the project leans into clean, high-contrast imagery, utilizing studio lighting to emphasize skin textures and graphic cosmetic applications. The series features a range of styles from sleek, architectural up-dos to macro-focused shots of vibrant pigment and texture. Stylist Eline Hoyois and hair stylist Pål Berdahl focus on structural precision, with editorial compositions often set against minimal, neutral backdrops. Featuring model Steinberg, the project emphasizes detail through deliberate framing and bold color choices. The collaborative work, produced by Lisa Olsson Hjerpe with casting by Anita Bitton, maintains a cohesive visual identity across the editorial set.
