The Department for Education’s campaign, 'Give your Skills New Life: Kevin,' highlights the transition of an experienced tradesman into the role of a college bricklaying instructor. The film follows Kevin as he shares his masonry expertise with a new generation of apprentices, bridging the gap between his long-standing career and his current pursuit in education. Produced with a focus on documentary aesthetics, the narrative alternates between vintage personal imagery and observational footage set within a brightly lit college workshop. The production utilizes a live-action technique to ground the story in a practical environment, emphasizing the hands-on nature of construction trades. Creative development was led by VCCP and BERNADETTE, with production support from Girl&Bear Studios. Post-production services were provided by Trim Editing UK and Time Based Arts, featuring sound design by Aumeta.
