Death & Co
Brand Identity

Mar 2026
The brand identity project for Close Company, a subsidiary of Death & Co, masterfully bridges the gap between high-end mixology and approachable, retro-inspired hospitality. Executed with a sharp focus on commercial design, the project creates a cohesive visual language that feels both nostalgic and distinctly modern. Through the integration of bold typography, mid-century modern iconography, and a vibrant color palette of checkerboard patterns and saturated hues, the team has established a signature aesthetic that permeates every touchpoint. From the tri-fold menu designs and playful business cards to the curated apparel and interior signage, the branding feels lived-in and atmospheric. The creative direction, supported by the evocative photography of Luke Beard, captures the moody, cinematic warmth of these cocktail spaces, utilizing natural light to highlight the rich textures of leather booths and professional bar setups. With design work by Wunder Werkz, the project leans into a narrative of casual nightlife, where graphic storytelling—using elements like smiley faces and vintage-style illustrations—complements the sophisticated, high-end cocktail service. By blending lifestyle photography with meticulous vector-based graphic design, the project successfully defines a distinct personality for the brand across multiple locations in Nashville, Atlanta, and Las Vegas, proving that functional brand utility can be deeply engaging, aesthetically textured, and authentically warm.
