Merlinje is a sophisticated fashion editorial series for Costume Denmark, showcasing a collection of contemporary silhouettes and tactile garments. Photographed by Janne Rugland, the project leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilizing clean studio backdrops and a blend of directional and soft natural light to emphasize sculptural forms and intricate fabric textures. The series features model Merlijne Schorren, whose presence anchors a diverse range of looks—from monochromatic tailored outerwear and dramatic knitwear to delicate lace and detailed eveningwear. Hair stylist Joel Phillips complements the styling with a consistent, slicked-back aesthetic that keeps the focus on the sharp tailoring and bold accessories, such as metallic gold jewellery and layered fringe accents. Throughout the project, the visual narrative oscillates between moody low-key portraits and bright, clean compositions, highlighting a cohesive approach to modern fashion storytelling.
