Merlinje is a fashion editorial series for Costume Denmark that highlights minimalist tailoring and sculptural silhouettes. Captured by photographer Janne Rugland, the project leans into a sophisticated aesthetic, utilizing clean studio backdrops and a blend of natural and dramatic directional lighting to articulate the tactile qualities of knitwear, leather, and layered textiles. The series features model Merlijne Schorren, whose direct gaze and varied styling—ranging from monochrome, high-contrast portraiture to soft, earth-toned compositions—serve as the visual anchor. Hair stylist Joel Phillips provides a consistent, slicked-back aesthetic that emphasizes the sharp facial features and modern garment structures throughout the collection.
