This fashion editorial project for Common Language, captured by photographer Laura Marie Cieplik, explores themes of texture and intimacy through a series of versatile studio and outdoor portraits. The work leans into a moody aesthetic, utilizing both monochrome high-contrast lighting and soft, natural daylight to emphasize intricate garments ranging from lace lingerie to layered knitwear and sheer overlays. Collaborating with fashion stylist Hollie Williamson, the imagery integrates tactile elements such as dried botanical masks, pearl accessories, and hand-drawn illustrations on skin. Hair stylist Olivier Noraz and makeup artist Lisa Michalik contribute to the surreal and ethereal atmosphere, focusing on elaborate hair designs and detailed cosmetic applications that elevate the editorial portraits into a cohesive visual study. The project utilizes various techniques including analogue film, gritty textures, and chiaroscuro lighting to maintain a raw and artistic edge throughout.
