The Chilean Ministry of Transport tackles the issue of distracted driving through the Social Wreaths campaign. This public awareness project draws a direct parallel between the roadside memorials, or animitas, found on city streets and the ongoing consequences of cell phone use behind the wheel. Developed by VML Chile with production from BlackStar, the film utilizes a documentary approach to examine these memorial sites. The edit integrates quiet shots of floral arrangements with behind-the-scenes footage of a florist constructing bouquets, grounding the narrative in a tangible, local context. A clean, live-action technique provides the visual structure, interspersed with text overlays that present road safety data.
