In Hiding the Truth Protects Nothing, Buffalo Zine delivers a masterclass in editorial minimalism, stripping away the superfluous to place the focus squarely on the tactile language of contemporary fashion. Photographed by Adrián González-Cohen with styling by Juan Corrales, the series adopts an unapologetic focus on texture and silhouette, utilizing a consistent neutral grey studio backdrop to unify a disparate range of avant-garde and high-fashion looks. The project leans into the classic editorial portrait, employing both studio strobe and natural light to emphasize the materiality of the garments, from the luster of silk and the rigidity of structural fabric to the soft, layered depth of tulle and leather. By juxtaposing everyday elements—a lit cigarette, a ceramic mug, or a casual pair of sweatpants—against high-concept sartorial choices, the imagery creates a deliberate friction between the performative nature of the shoot and an air of quiet, contemplative spontaneity.
