British Vogue’s Family Fortunes feature highlights Mawaan and Nabhaan Rizwan in a series of editorial portraits. Photographed by Ali Foroughi with visual direction from Jamie Spence, the project explores the interplay between human subjects and industrial spaces, utilising a mix of natural light and direct flash to define its aesthetic. The imagery adopts a documentary-style editorial approach, captured within film archives and technical workshops. By incorporating techniques like analogue film and grainy textures, the work draws on a retro visual language, contrasting the subjects' expressive movements against the rigid, repetitive geometry of metal shelving and machinery. These portraits document the Rizwans in structured, workwear-inspired attire, leaning into the utilitarian backdrop of the archival facility.
