Bonnie Clyde
Brand Identity

Aug 2026
The brand identity for eyewear label Bonnie Clyde serves as a masterclass in blending classical art history with high-frequency contemporary design. This cohesive project, which encompasses a wide-ranging brand identity, leans into a juxtaposition of archival aesthetics and modern motion graphics. By integrating 17th-century oil painting sensibilities—such as dramatic chiaroscuro and ornate filigree—with sleek, minimalist typography and rhythmic animation, the studio creates a visual language that feels both timeless and aggressively current. The work functions as a multi-layered exploration of form, utilizing artistic cut-out effects and intentional macro photography to highlight the tactile textures of acetate frames and weathered paper alike. Central to the campaign is a rigorous focus on typography, where bold, elegant serifs and gothic letterforms become the connective tissue between static editorial portraits and dynamic product customization tools. With design by Mouthwash Studio, illustration by Nicholas D'Apolito, and motion work from Lucas Hesse, the project demonstrates a sophisticated command of visual hierarchy. Photography captured by Brian Kanagaki, Suzie Maez, and Zac Serrano grounds the abstract graphic elements in the lived experience of the consumer, balancing the high-fashion editorialism of architectural coats and sunglasses with a human-centric, lifestyle-driven commercial sensibility. Ultimately, this body of work establishes Bonnie Clyde as a brand that is as much about the intellectual legacy of design as it is about the functional utility of optical accessories.
