About

Banana Republic’s Spring 2025 campaign, titled For The Curious, channels a nostalgic travel narrative that blends classic cinematic aesthetics with observational fashion photography. Shot by photographer Sonia Szóstak under the creative direction of Ryan Spacey, the campaign leans into a documentary-inspired visual language, capturing models Giacomo Cavalli, Mila Bergsma, and Raquel Brito against a backdrop of vintage train carriages, bustling local markets, and verdant tropical landscapes. The project utilizes analogue film techniques and high-contrast monochrome grading to emphasize the texture of the collection’s linen-heavy tailoring and intricate embroidery. Eschewing studio polish for authentic environmental lighting, the series emphasizes movement and exploration, using structural architectural elements—from aged concrete bridges to railway stations—to frame candid moments of journey and repose.
