Anthropologie
Cape Town

Apr 2026
Anthropologie transports the viewer to the sun-drenched shores of South Africa in this evocative lifestyle campaign. Shot on location in Cape Town, the project serves as a masterclass in atmospheric visual storytelling, blending raw, rugged coastal landscapes with the brand's signature relaxed aesthetic. Creative director Morgan Taylor orchestrates a cohesive narrative that leans into an ethereal, travel-inspired mood, brought to life through the lens of photographer Tom Schirmacher. The editorial approach relies heavily on the authentic quality of analogue film, utilizing 35mm film grain and natural light to capture the interplay of shadow and texture. Model Mahalia Celeste Henderson anchors the series, moving seamlessly between contemplative portraits and candid beach scenes that emphasize a sense of quiet movement. Complementing the aesthetic, hair stylist Mari Ohashi and makeup artist Ciara O'Shea maintain a minimalist, windswept look that heightens the raw, organic beauty of the surroundings. Techniques such as high-key lighting during golden hour and the dramatic use of low-key chiaroscuro in black-and-white portraiture create a sophisticated rhythm, alternating between expansive cinematic vistas and intimate, tactile close-ups. By weaving together the jagged textures of coastal rock, patterned crochet garments, and the vast, misty horizon, the campaign positions the brand not just as a retailer, but as a curator of a sun-soaked, adventurous lifestyle.
