AnOther Magazine
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of ...

Apr 2026
Marking four decades of influence, this anniversary project for AnOther Magazine delivers a masterclass in editorial portraiture that feels as timeless as it is contemporary. Featuring the legendary Naomi Campbell, the series leans into high-concept visual storytelling through the lens of photographer Nick Knight. By employing low-key chiaroscuro lighting, the shoot creates a stark, cinematic environment where deep, immersive shadows dance across the frame, effectively elevating the textures of intricate lace, reflective mirror tiles, and dynamic fringe. The collaboration benefits from the sharp vision of fashion editor and stylist Ellie Grace Cumming, whose sartorial selections anchor the imagery in a sophisticated, minimalist aesthetic. Each frame is meticulously composed, balancing the raw poise of the model with the deliberate precision of studio strobe techniques. The result is a collection of images that prioritize silhouette and tactile detail, channeling a narrative of enduring elegance through a monochromatic and high-contrast lens. With contributions from hair stylist Lorenzo Barcella, makeup artist Ngozi Esther Edeme, and manicurist Michelle Class, the project maintains an impeccable level of polish. By eschewing conventional glamour for a more brooding, intimate atmosphere, the editorial series captures the essence of a modern icon, proving that even after forty years, the convergence of vision, style, and craft remains the ultimate medium for cultural resonance.
