5ELEVEN Magazine presents Blue Velvet, an editorial beauty project that explores chromatic makeup applications through a series of close-up portraits. The series leans into high-contrast imagery, utilizing moody lighting and low-key chiaroscuro techniques to accentuate skin textures and bold cosmetic tones. Photographer Arved Colvin-Smith leads the visual execution, capturing a range of textures from iridescent eyeshadows to high-shine lip finishes. The production features hair styling by Philippe Tholimet, makeup by Ninni Nummela, and manicures by Cherrie Snow, with technical retouching by Suzanne Tak.
