Bio
I’m a Senior Creative Retoucher with over two decades of extensive global training. As you can see from my portfolio, my unique strengths are in colour correction and colour grading techniques and creative comping. Brief permitting, my images pop with lustre and brilliance while retaining minuscule detail so that the subject looks natural and organic. Based in Sydney, I specialise in high-end fashion, beauty and advertising campaigns as well as creative comping, photorealism and photo-hyperrealism, and illustration. I am a creative retoucher who can combine multiple complex images flawlessly and realistically. I’m as happy working from a small brief to being intricately involved in the creative process. From concept and ideation, being in-studio with photographers or providing image searches, through to assisting with art direction, and image illustration, I can advise on all stages of campaign development. I started my career with a Bachelor of Graphic Design from the University of Canberra, moving to Sydney shortly after to become a Designer. I then relocated to London to become a Photoshop Specialist for two years. I brought those skills back to Canberra where I worked for the global advertising agency, Grey. Another continent skip was in the winds – this time Canada, where I formed a creative partnership with photographer Tom McCray Photography working on SONY and other product clients. I was Sydney bound once more, and worked for ACP magazine, Cleo, for three years. Fashion, lifestyle and beauty became a consistent theme for my work and took me to San Francisco next where I worked on clothing brands Gap and the Banana Republic. I also freelanced at the retouching sudio DMAX Imaging working on Fashion and Advertising. Returning to Sydney, I worked at Pacific Magazines honing my craft in creative comping, illustration and pre-press at Prevention magazine. I then formed Tammy White Retouching and have been freelancing since 2011. My clients have included Limehouse Creative and Capture Lab, and in 2018 I opened Big W’s in-house retouching department and implemented all of their systems. I also learnt Maya 3D animation and visual effects software in San Francisco, to enhance creative competing techniques and deepen my retouching skills in light, texture, form, space and depth. I’m looking forward to speaking with you about your retouching needs.
