Norway-born and London-based, fashion photographer and filmmaker Sølve Sundsbø has made a name for himself through his visionary concepts, stylistic versatility, and a pioneering spirit that embraces cutting-edge technologies, from 3-D scanning to hand-painted retouching. Sølve's dynamic portfolio includes campaigns for prestigious publications such as Italian Vogue, Love, Visionaire, V, Interview, i-D, The New York Times, Chinese Vogue, Vogue Nippon, and W Magazine. His work has graced numerous exhibitions, showcasing his artistic prowess in both group shows and solo displays. Notable highlights include the Vogue Photo Festival's "Beyond the Still Image" at Milan’s Palazzo Reale in 2018, as well as solo exhibitions like “Perroquets” in 2008 and “Rosie and 21 Men” in 2013. In addition to his editorial work, Sølve has collaborated with iconic fashion and beauty brands, including Chanel, Armani, Cartier, Mugler, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Guerlain, Givenchy, H&M, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Sergio Rossi, and Boucheron, producing striking imagery that resonates with audiences worldwide. His directorial talents extend to short films for Chanel, Gucci, Lancôme, LOVE, The New York Times, Nike, and SHOWstudio. A standout piece, his NY Times film "14 Actors Acting," earned an Emmy Award for New Approaches to News and Documentary Programming in 2011. In a groundbreaking collaboration with W Magazine in 2012, he created and exhibited a monumental installation titled “The Ever Changing Face of Beauty,” an ethereal exploration that melds the organic with the technologically advanced, which received widespread critical acclaim. Sølve's artistry was further recognized through his captivating imagery of the Alexander McQueen archive, featured in the catalogue for the celebrated "Savage Beauty" retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. His work has been included in prestigious auctions by Phillips De Pury and is represented in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London, solidifying his status as a leading figure in contemporary fashion photography and filmmaking.
