Marguerite Bornhauser, born in 1989, is a Paris-based artist whose multifaceted approach to photography blends editorial work with artistic exploration. After earning her degree in literature and journalism, she honed her craft at the National School of Photography in Arles, graduating in 2015. Her artistic journey gained significant recognition with her inaugural solo exhibition at the Museum of an Photography (MEP) in Paris in 2019, marking her emergence onto the international art scene. Bornhauser's work has since captivated audiences across a diverse array of venues, including esteemed art institutions, galleries, and festivals in Paris (notably Paris, Arles, Toulouse, and Deauville), as well as in cities such as Cincinnati, London, Brussels, and Istanbul. Her art has transcended traditional gallery spaces, featuring prominently in public installations, including the Paris subway and billboards across the USA in collaboration with the Cincinnati Art Museum. In addition to her photographic endeavors, Bornhauser is a talented author. Her debut self-published book, "Plastic Colors," was recognized as a finalist in the inaugural book award by Mack Books in 2015 and was subsequently published in 2017. She continued to expand her literary contributions with "8," released by Poursuite in 2018, followed by "Red Harvest" in 2019. Currently, she is poised to unveil her fourth book with Éditions La Martinière in 2021. Alongside her artistic pursuits, Bornhauser works as a photojournalist and portrait photographer, contributing to both French and international magazines and newspapers, while also engaging in fashion photography. Her diverse body of work reflects a commitment to storytelling through the lens, establishing her as a dynamic voice in contemporary photography.
