Bio

Luke Gilford is a visionary filmmaker and photographer hailing from Santa Cruz, California. A graduate of UCLA’s esteemed Art program, Luke has established himself as a prominent figure in the contemporary art scene, with his evocative photography and films showcased in prestigious venues worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and FOAM in Amsterdam, as well as at Sundance's NEXT Festival. Luke’s artistic practice is characterized by a poetic and cinematic lens that transports viewers into his surreal world. He masterfully weaves storytelling across various mediums, crafting visually stunning imagery infused with a distinct narrative vision. His career took a remarkable turn with his debut film, which featured the legendary David Lynch in a dreamlike short for Dom Perignon, setting the stage for his innovative approach to visual storytelling. Following this, Luke wrote and directed "The Future of Flesh," a critically acclaimed short film that artfully intertwined Prada's Fall/Winter collection with a captivating narration by the iconic Jane Fonda. This project propelled him into new creative territories, leading to his first narrative film, "Connected," which starred Pamela Anderson and Dree Hemingway, alongside another appearance by Fonda. In addition to his narrative work, Luke has directed music videos for acclaimed artists such as Blood Orange and Troye Sivan, and collaborated with luxury brands including Mercedes Benz and Maison Martin Margiela. His artistic contributions have garnered attention from major publications like The New York Times, Dazed & Confused, V Magazine, and Vogue, further solidifying his reputation as a leading voice in contemporary art and film.
