Bio

Jason Solo makes pictures and lo-fi animations, combining hard-edged vector forms and drawn elements with energetic, striking colour palettes. Influenced by retro-futurism and background paintings from 50s and 60s animations, Jason’s work often explores ideas about the dark side of science, technology and society. He has created illustrations for GQ Magazine about predictive technology as well as cover and tour art for Seth Sentry’s recent EP. Jason also illustrated labels, packaging, comic strips and marketing materials for Tasmanian-based Deviant Distillery, featuring their charismatic canine mascot, Molly. Jason grew up in Detroit, but now lives in Melbourne. His clients include NASA, Uber, Apple, Hyundai, IBM, and the Harvard Business Review. Jason has also created work for numerous non-profit organisations including the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, Guide Dogs Australia and The Smith Family.
