Hannah Sider, born in Malawi and raised between the vibrant cultures of Malawi and Toronto, Canada, began her artistic journey at the tender age of 12 when she first picked up a film camera. From that moment on, she embarked on a passionate exploration of photography, capturing life through the lens of 35mm film. Her work is a captivating blend of youthful exuberance and raw authenticity, showcasing the unique imperfections that come with this classic medium. Since relocating to New York in 2012, Sider has made Brooklyn her home, drawing inspiration from its dynamic energy and diverse communities, which have significantly influenced the evolution of her artistic style.
