Boogie, a Serbian-born photographer, emerged from the tumultuous backdrop of Belgrade, where the civil war of the 1990s profoundly shaped his artistic vision. Witnessing firsthand the complexities of rebellion and unrest, he developed a unique lens through which to explore the darker facets of human experience. In 1998, Boogie relocated to New York, where he shifted his focus to the city’s housing projects, capturing the raw and often harrowing realities of gangs and drugs.
