Antje Peters
Bio
Antje Peters, originally from West Berlin, Germany, has established herself as a dynamic force in contemporary photography. In 2000, she relocated to the Netherlands to pursue her studies at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, where she honed her skills and developed a distinctive artistic voice. After earning her degree in photography, Antje seamlessly blended her artistic pursuits with a successful career as a commercial photographer. In 2015, Antje returned to her roots in Berlin, where she continues to create thought-provoking work that challenges the conventions of her chosen medium. Her captivating photography has garnered attention in esteemed exhibitions at institutions such as C/O Berlin and Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam. Additionally, her artistic explorations have culminated in a series of innovative artist books, which have been showcased at prominent international art book fairs, including Off Print Paris and the New York Art Book Fair. A passionate , Antje imparted her expertise through the "Applied Photography" course at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2019, where she inspired the next generation of photographers. Antje's artistic philosophy revolves around a critical examination of photography's existing stereotypes. She states, “My work as an artist focuses on the medium of photography itself, where the depiction of products evolves into the primary subject. I dissect well-known visual strategies from the advertising world, employing an artistic lens to reveal the interplay between art and commercial photography, each influencing the other.” Antje's impressive client roster includes renowned names such as Numéro Berlin, Louis Vuitton, Rimowa, and Wallpaper, among others, solidifying her reputation as a versatile and sought-after photographer in both commercial and artistic realms.
