Description

This documentary photograph captured by Steve McCurry portrays several young black men engaged in boxing training within an enclosed outdoor courtyard. In the foreground, a man sits back while exercising, his arms raised in a defensive or conditioning posture. Further back, others practice striking techniques against a suspended speed bag and a wall-mounted pad. The sunlit courtyard features weathered pinkish walls, a concrete floor with painted training circles, and a small red bucket resting on the ground. The natural lighting highlights the muscular physiques and focused expressions of the athletes as they work out.
