About

A dense cluster of prickly pear cactus plants sits on dry, pebbled ground under a dramatic, dark stormy sky. The broad, oval green pads catch low directional sunlight across their textured surfaces, highlighting spines and natural patterns. Smaller scrub vegetation appears in the background behind the main cactus mass. The composition is captured in a horizontal orientation with moody natural lighting. Photographer Alex Cretey Systermans shot this in London.
