Description

This close-up portrait captures a Black woman in profile with her eyes closed, exhaling a plume of smoke from a cigarette held delicately in her hand. Her hair is styled in long, thick braids framing her face. She wears layered gold necklaces around her neck and a geometric pyramid tattoo on her forearm. Long red fingernails and delicate rings accent her hand as she holds the cigarette near her lips. Photographed by Maggie Shannon, the portrait has an intimate and candid quality.
