Julien Langendorff, Illustrator, Paris

Description

This striking surreal collage by Paris-based illustrator Julien Langendorff combines black-and-white photographic fragments with celestial and religious iconography. The central vertical composition features a classical sculpted face partially masked and framed by dark skies with luminous full moons. Flanking cross elements extend horizontally from behind the central vertical pillar, creating a structured cruciform layout. Tear-like droplets trace down the cheek of the fragmented face, enhancing the somber, contemplative tone. The layered paper construction exhibits visible edges, halftone textures, and high-contrast monochrome tones.
