About

This editorial image captured by photographer Camilla Rutherford in Auckland depicts an intimate scene inside an ice cream shop. An elderly man wearing glasses and a cap holds a young blonde boy who is excitedly pointing at the various tubs of ice cream behind the glass display case. On the opposite side of the counter, a bearded shop worker in a striped shirt and dark apron looks on attentively. The composition uses warm interior lighting and a shallow depth of field that highlights the glass divider and the polished wooden counter surface.
