Description

This monochrome image presents a photographic contact sheet arranged in a grid of twenty-four frames against a neutral light grey background. The subject is an adult woman with dark, textured shoulder-length hair and a layered necklace, captured in a series of intimate, sequential poses. Throughout the frames, her hands actively interact with her face and hair, pulling gently at her cheeks, covering her eyes, or resting against her collarbone. The lighting is soft and even, highlighting the expressive contours of her face and the varied gestures. The composition creates a rhythmic study of movement and emotional nuance, captured in black and white by photographer Mark Pillai as part of the project C-DeSac the breaking bite.
