Asger Carlsen, Photographer, New York

About

This monochrome photograph by Asger Carlsen captures a stark interior scene with a nude male figure standing in profile, interacting with a bulbous, organic sculptural object. The composition is shot from a wide angle within a room featuring a carpeted floor, white walls adorned with framed pictures, a single chair on the left, and a table with draped fabric in the foreground. The lighting is direct and flat, casting soft shadows across the floor and highlighting the smooth textures of the room. The monochromatic grading enhances the raw, surreal quality of the subject matter and the domestic environment.
