Anita Calero, Photographer, New York

Description

This still life photograph by Anita Calero features a tall, clear blown-glass vase as the central subject. Inside the base of the vase sits a small, rounded green glass element. Three bright yellow butterflies with dark wing margins interact with the vessel: one rests on the rim at the top, another clings to the mid-body of the glass, and a third flutters near the lower left side. The entire composition is set against a smooth, warm cream-colored backdrop under soft, even lighting that highlights the translucent qualities of the glass and the delicate textures of the insect wings.
