About

This photograph by Chicago-based photographer Andy Mahr captures a bearded man mid-cast with a fly fishing rod. The subject wears a light blue button-down shirt with rolled sleeves, khaki shorts, a baseball cap, and sunglasses. He holds the fly rod in his right hand while managing the line with his left hand, against a pale, overcast sky. The low-angle composition emphasises the dynamic casting motion and the graceful arc of the fishing line.
