Where's The Party?

Jul 2026
Where's The Party? for W Magazine serves as a masterclass in high-fashion editorial, leaning into a nostalgic yet avant-garde aesthetic that feels plucked from a technicolor dreamscape. The series of portraits, captured by photographer Rafael Pavarotti, celebrates the interplay between sharp tailoring and unabashedly theatrical textures. Against a series of saturated, solid-color backdrops, model Raquel Zimmermann anchors the imagery, bringing a commanding, direct gaze to each frame. The project excels in its commitment to monochromatic harmony and strategic color-blocking, where every element—from the voluminous 1960s-inspired hair by Olivier Schawalder to the vivid, experimental eyeshadow palettes crafted by makeup artist Christine Corbel—acts as a deliberate brushstroke. Fashion editor and stylist Charlotte Collet weaves a narrative through tactility, consistently juxtaposing sleek, form-fitting silhouettes with heavy faux furs, delicate feathers, and shimmering sequins. Utilizing meticulous studio strobe lighting, the execution emphasizes depth and clean lines, ensuring that the architecture of each garment remains front and center. The result is a vibrant, sophisticated editorial sequence that treats luxury fashion as both a rigorous design study and a playful, celebratory performance. By balancing vintage-inflected glamour with a distinctly contemporary lens, the project transcends traditional fashion photography to become a cohesive visual exploration of movement, texture, and saturated color.
